Since 2015, the "Engagierte Stadt" network program has been promoting the establishment and further development of stable and sustainable engagement structures in selected cities and communities in Germany.
In May 2021, the city of Kiel was selected to be part of the network program "Engagierte Stadt".
Currently, the nationwide learning and opportunity network consists of 100 Engaged Cities, communities and neighborhoods working to make engagement and participation possible for all. The program's guiding principle is a community in which actors from civil society, politics, administration and companies work together with residents to create a democratic, diverse and solidarity-based society.
