From now on, holders of the Kieler Senior*innen-Pass can also become members of the KulturHafen. This is another important step on the way to more cultural participation for Kiel residents with lower incomes. Prerequisite for membership is the presentation of a valid Senior*innen-Pass, an additional KielPass is not required. "We are very pleased that the KulturHafen can finally resume its operations after the long pandemic-related break," says Alexandra Hebestreit, head of the nettekieler Ehrenamtsbüro, which co-initiated the KulturHafen and is home to the KielPass and Senior*innen-Pass offices. "The KulturHafen is one of the bonus partners most frequently requested by KielPass customers, along with the Kiel baths, the city library and the dog tax, so it's all the nicer that Senior*innen-Pass holders can now also become members."

KulturHafen Kiel provides tickets donated by participating cultural institutions free of charge to Kiel residents on low incomes. The project is a cooperation of the nettekieler Ehrenamtsbüro, the Theater Kiel and the Fortbildungsakademie der Wirtschaft gGmbh (FAW) and is funded by the Jobcenter Kiel. Currently, in addition to the Theater Kiel with opera, drama and the Werftparktheater, Hof Akkerboom e.V., the Kulturladen Leuchtturm e.V., the theater "Die Komödianten", as well as the Volksbühne and the Niederdeutsche Bühne Kiel, the Metro Kino Kiel and the Bethlehem Church in Friedrichsort participate. Other cultural institutions are always welcome. Every cultural institution in Kiel, from theaters to museums, music events, sports clubs or cinemas, is addressed.

Interested organizers are welcome to contact the KulturHafen office at telephone (0431) 66716740, e-mail: info[at]kulturhafen-kiel.de or at (0431) 9015503, e-mail: ehrenamtsbuero[at]nette-kieler.de at the nettekieler Ehrenamtsbüro.

Those involved in the KulturHafen project want everyone to have the chance to experience cultural events. Since the start of the project on September 1, 2018, and despite a long break due to the pandemic, KulturHafen has already gained 374 members.
